Two goals in the opening ten minutes gave
Spurs the perfect start on their way to a good home win over West Ham
United Under-18s. Kudus Oyenuga's
astute pass threaded through the West Ham defence gave Paul McBride the
chance to open the scoring in the third minute and his run beyond the
flat back line ended with the ball in the net. A few minutes
later, Tottenham doubled the lead when Lee Angol finished well from a
ball in from the right.
Still in the first half, McBride and Angol were
both involved as they set up Oyenuga, who scored the third goal.
Spurs eased off in the second half, giving the
Irons a chance to come back into the match and West Ham's England
Under-19 striker Blair Turgott got a goal back, but it was not enough to
prevent Spurs running out 3-1 winners.

Spurs hit five past West Ham United in
the FA Premier Academy League at Spurs Lodge in a convincing win.
An eighth minute Ryan Fredericks cross caused
panic in the Irons defence and when the ball was half-cleared, Paul Jose
M'Poku, playing in midfield, struck the ball back and into the net, as
did the Belgian's stunning 20 yard volley that ripped into the top
corner of the goal in the 14th minute.
West Ham keeper Peter Loveday pulled off a good
save to stop Harry Kane's effort on goal, but when the Spurs striker
passed the ball into the feet of Kudus Oyenuga, his fellow forward
turned Sergio Sanchez and placed the ball into the bottom corner of the
net. The fourth goal was also created by Kane, who picked out
M'Poku and he moved forward from the halfway line to see his fierce 25
yard drive beat the keeper as it flew into the top corner again.
Oyenuga and substitute Cameron Lancaster both
brought saves from the Irons goalie, but Hall scored in the 79th minute
and then two minutes later, Ahmed Abdulla converted a close range header
to make it 4-2. Jamie Butler had to be on his toes to tip over a
free-kick from Hall, but Spurs took the ball to the other end of the
pitch and Kane was fouled by Sanchez and got up to take the penalty, but
Loveday guessed the right way and palmed the ball out.
However, not to be denied, Kane once more
opened up the West Ham defence with a pass that gave Oyenuga the chance
to take the ball around the keeper and slide it into an empty net with
two minutes left to seal a 5-2 victory.
Teams :
West Ham United - Loveday, Sanchez, Hall, Abdulla.
Spurs - Butler, A. Smith, Butcher (Durojaiye 46), Byrne,
Francis-Angol, Fredericks (Lancaster 60), M'Poku (O'Neill 71),
Nicholson, McBride, Kane, Oyenuga

Tottenham Under-18s put the Premier Academy League
Southern Group B title just a win away with a convincing
4-0 win over West Ham United at Spurs Lodge.
While Spurs controlled the first
half, they were unable to breach the Irons defence and
started to loose their pattern of play as the interval
approached. However, a tactical change at
half-time and a few words of wisdom from coach Alex
Inglethorpe set the side on their way to sparkling
second 45 minutes.
Five minutes in, Ryan Mason flighted a corner for Nathan
Byrne to knock into the net and this goal gave the side
great confidence. Dean Parrett soon wriggled away
from his marker and released Mason, who dinked the ball
expertly over the advancing keeper to make it 2-0.
With 67 minutes gone, the game
was virtually wrapped up, as Stephen Caulker's header
from a corner was saved, but Harry Kane was alive to the
rebound and scored the third Tottenham goal.
Saving the best for last, a
good build up ended with Ryan Fredericks setting up
Byrne to bury a shot low into the net from the edge of
the area to make it 4-0 to Spurs. There was time
in added time for Montano to get to the ball ahead of
Jansson and hit the bar, leaving a simple task for Ahmed
Abdulla to net the rebound for a consolation goal to
leave the the final score 4-1.
Teams :
Spurs - Jansson, Smith,
Cox, Parrett, Caulker, Butcher, Byrne, Ekim (Nicholson 46), Kane, Mason
(Fredericks 80), Kasim (Carroll 75).

Tottenham Under-18s recorded a 3-2 away win over West
Ham United thanks to two goals from Radwan Hamed and one
from Leigh Mills.
After a good opening spell, Spurs hit
the bar, then Jake Livermore hit the post and the
ball finally found it's way into the net when a
three-man movement down the right provided a chance for
Radwan Hamed to score in the 25th minute.
Some poor defending five
minutes later saw West Ham equalise with an easy goal,
but Spurs came back straight away with another attack on
the right wing and Hamed converted at the near post.
West Ham scored from a corner
to level the scores once more, but with a strong wind
behind Spurs in the second half, it made their game
disjointed and they had to rely on a Jamie Davis
free-kick to set up Leigh Mills, who ran onto the ball
and side-foot home for the winner.

West Ham United visited the
Under-19s at Spurs Lodge for a game that should have taken place at the
Fords Sports and Social Club.
And it was Spurs who made the most of the switch of
venue by ending up 2-1 winners in the FA Premier League Academy League.
A 25th minute from goal gave a Spurs side the lead
after they had started brightly and in a game of many chances, West Ham
equalised, but with just five minutes remaining, substitute Lee Barnard
scored the winner to give Tottenham revenge for that 0-4 reverse just
before Christmas.

Spurs were
knocked out in the Preliminary round of the FA Youth Cup, as West Ham
United Colts and Spurs Youth were drawn together as part of a paring
down process in the competition in the very early stages.
It was a shame that two such strong sides should
contest a preliminary round, but West Ham won out 3-1 despite Tottenham
fielding four full time professionals and two apprentices.
Spurs took an early lead, but Martin Britt and
John Charles scored before the break to give the Irons the lead, while
they also missed a penalty. However, a second half goal from
Martin Peters ensured a win for the home side.
